The read

Who this outfit actually suits

Two things stand out. Their rental listings name the actual gear, down to Fitwell canyon shoes, 4mm neoprene socks and white ash walking poles, rather than describing a generic package. If you care what you are putting on your feet for ten miles of river cobble, that specificity is useful.

And every package includes what they call an in depth information session covering times, distances and logistics. For a first time Narrows hiker that briefing is arguably worth as much as the gear, because the most common mistakes on that hike are planning mistakes rather than equipment ones.

They sit at the higher end of Springdale rental pricing. Their footwear package is $35 against roughly $31 elsewhere, and the drysuit $85 against $79. That is a small premium and you should decide whether the named gear and the briefing are worth it to you. On a single day rental the whole spread is a few dollars.

Authorization

What they are permitted to do

Listed on the park’s published authorization roster under NamaGuides / Zion Guru for commercially guided hiking, guided bicycle tours and photography workshops. That is three categories, which is broader than most.

They also rent canyoneering gear for canyons such as The Subway and Pine Creek. Read that carefully: that is gear for self guided permit holders, not a guided trip. No company is authorized to guide the park’s technical canyons, so renting the kit and holding your own permit is the only legitimate way in.

Before you book

Worth asking about

Take the briefing seriously

It is included and it is the part first timers benefit from most. Ask what the flow rate is doing that week and how far up they would realistically go given your group.

Bundle if you are riding too

They offer a discount for taking e-bike rental alongside Narrows gear. If your trip includes both, ask for it rather than booking the two separately.
